Dr. Luke Brennecke
Class of 1966
After Dr. Luke Brennecke graduated from Fox High School, he attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point where he earned his B.S in engineering and was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in the Regular Army. He served during the height of the Cold War and later earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and researched hazardous pathogens at USAMRIID, focusing on vaccine development. Post-active duty, he led Pathology Associates, Inc., a renowned pathology consulting firm, and authored over 50 scientific articles, primarily on cardiovascular medical devices, before retiring in 2017.
Dr. Michael Roberts
Class of 1971
Michael Roberts began his career in education with a focus on music, later delving into administration and learning theory, and earning his Doctorate in Education by 1982. Throughout his career, he led several educational initiatives, from directing the Artist in Education Program in Missouri to serving as the Head of School at institutions like Topeka Collegiate School and Catherine Cook School, while also heavily engaging in school accreditation and leadership roles. After earning an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business, a Principal's Certificate from Harvard, and serving on multiple educational boards, Roberts retired in 2018. He now consults on leadership in Independent Schools.
Tammy Hawkins
Class of 1999
With over 20 years of experience in security and fraud solutions, including roles at RGA, MasterCard, and Activision Blizzard, Tammy Hawkins is a leading global executive, currently serving as the Vice President of Cybersecurity & Fraud Prevention at Intuit. Holding an MBA from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and three technology patents, Tammy integrates security into every aspect of product development at Intuit, safeguarding countless small businesses globally. Besides her technical expertise, she fervently champions diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as the mentorship of upcoming professionals in her field worldwide.
Richard Simpson
Cornerstone of the Fox C-6 District
Richard began his impactful journey with the Fox C-6 School District by teaching math and science to the first freshman class at Fox High School in 1955. His dedication saw him rise through the ranks, becoming Principal of both Fox Junior High and Fox High School, and eventually serving as Interim Superintendent. He championed the arts by advocating for the creation of Rickman Auditorium and was honored with a school named after him: Richard A. Simpson Elementary. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Masterpiece Award in 2017, encapsulating his enduring dedication to the district and community.
Martin Johnson
Choral Director
Martin Johnson was Fox High School's dedicated Choral Director from 1967 to 1984. He masterfully conducted seven different vocal ensembles such as the Senior Girl’s Glee Club and the Concert Choir which both achieved distinguished recognition at state and national conventions. Under Mr. Johnson’s leadership, Fox Senior High School choirs earned an impressive 46 "I" ratings and 8 “II” ratings in evaluative music contests. Johnson's commitment to unity and excellence is captured in his motto, "We Are One…Always!"
David Butler
Band Director
David Butler, a 1962 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, served as the dedicated Band Director at Fox High School for three decades from 1962 - 1992. Throughout his tenure, his guidance and mentorship resulted in Fox students achieving numerous, prestigious All District and All State Awards. In 1983, he spearheaded an initiative for the Fox High School Band to perform in South Africa, leaving a lasting legacy. Additionally, his 43 years of active involvement with the Arnold Community band showcase his unwavering commitment to the community and the arts.
