Joe Salsman
Executive Board President
Joe Salsman graduated from Fox High School in 1988 and went on to earn his degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1992. He has been serving as the Executive Fox Alumni Board President since 2022.
Joe has had a long career in the Fox School District. He began as an Elementary Physical Education Teacher from 1994 to 2008. During this time, he also made significant contributions to the athletics program at Seckman High School. He served as the Head Girls' Basketball Coach from 1999 to 2008, where he developed and led a competitive team. He also served as the Head Softball Coach from 2007 to 2008.
In 2008, Joe transitioned to an administrative role at Fox High School, becoming the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. In 2011, he continued his administrative journey as an Assistant Principal at Fox High School, a position he still holds today.
Throughout his career, Joe has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and athletics, making a lasting impact on the Fox School District. His leadership and dedication are now also benefitting the Fox Alumni community through his role as the Executive Fox Alumni Board President.
Mona (Hancock)
Von Trapp
President of Alumni Board
Mona Von Trapp graduated from Fox High School in 1971 and is currently retired, dedicating her time to various alumni activities for Fox High School. She serves as the President of the official Fox High School Alumni Association.
Mona began her career in sales with the Arnold Tribune, a newspaper covering the Arnold area, where she learned the advertising sales business. Her next opportunity took her to the St. Louis Business Journal in advertising sales.
When the Business Journal purchased St. Louis Magazine, Mona was named Director of Advertising and eventually became Publisher. She then served as General Manager at the Suburban Journals, overseeing West County, South County, and Jefferson County newspapers. Following this, she worked with WHERE Magazine as Special Project Manager and initiated the start of two new publications: St. Louis Family and St. Louis Bride, eventually becoming the Publisher of all three publications. Finally, she founded a consulting company, Mainspring, and consulted as Publisher for ALIVE Magazine, successfully turning a substantial profit for the company.
Mona credits her high school education and various sales, marketing, and management courses for her success as a business executive.
Family is paramount in her life. She spent many years as a Girl Scout leader, softball coach, Mother's Club President, and volunteer. She attended countless softball, volleyball, and basketball games, cheerleading events, and dance recitals. Mona feels blessed with a fabulous husband, four beautiful daughters, 21 amazing grandchildren, a feisty great-granddaughter, and three stepchildren. She describes her big and celebratory family as "This Is Us!"
Currently, her focus is on creating an effective, well-managed Fox High School Alumni Association that is welcoming to all who attended Fox High School. The association aims to create a community of alumni, provide scholarships, recognize distinguished graduates and faculty, and continue organizing reunions and the annual reunion picnic.
She feels proud to be such an integral part of the Fox High School Alumni Association. WARRIOR PRIDE!
Fun Fact: Mona lived in Hawaii for three years, just three blocks from Waikiki Beach, and enjoyed the sun and sand often. She had her first child in Hawaii and actually sold Tupperware to the islanders—her first true sales job!
Anthony Hill
Vice President
Webmaster
Anthony Hill serves as the Vice President and Webmaster for the FHS Alumni Association, and he looks forward to what the future holds for both Fox High and the community the Alumni Association aspires to build. He graduated from Fox High School in 2014, where he served as president of DECA, was a member of the Art Club, National Honor Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars. He was a Bright Flight scholar and played Varsity soccer.
Anthony started his first business, Bob Boards, a skateboard company, at age 12. At age 13, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout; and in his junior year at Fox, he co-founded Elite Beat, a DJ company, with a fellow FHS grad.
Anthony earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management at Truman State University. There, he founded the Community of College Entrepreneurs (CCE), a nonprofit dedicated to helping student entrepreneurs. Anthony and the CCE partnered with a prominent Alumnus and Truman State's School of Business to launch the Bulldog BITE, a competition where students pitch their existing business or business plan to a panel of alumni and business leaders for a chance to win seed funding. Daymond John of FUBU and "Shark Tank" fame made a guest appearance at the competition in 2018.
While at Truman, Anthony also joined the Bulldog Student Investment Fund (BSIF), where he served on both the Global Economy and Portfolio Management teams. In BSIF, he competed on the CFA Research Team, which won 1st place in the Regional CFA Research Challenge, and medaled in the TD Ameritrade Options Trading competition. Since graduating, he has built a successful career as a Wealth Management Advisor over the past 7 years.
Now at Visionary Wealth Advisors, Anthony has partnered with Tim Hanser’s team, continuing to provide comprehensive financial advice to help clients achieve their short- and long-term financial goals. His holistic approach focuses on understanding what’s most important to clients. He specializes in advising high-net-worth individuals and business owners on retirement planning, asset management, trust and estate planning, and tax strategies. Anthony holds his Series 7, 63, and 65 FINRA securities licenses, as well as his Missouri Life and Health insurance licenses.
Outside of work, Anthony supports young entrepreneurs through the CCE at Truman and the next generation as a judge for DECA's Regional and State competitions. He loves to serve in his church by playing drums in the orchestra and contemporary band, and he enjoys golf, board games, camping, and spending time with friends and family.
Anthony and his wife, Ashley, share a passion for helping others and are high school sweethearts. They married after graduating from college and recently built a home in Missouri, where they live with their two cats, Ross and Monica. Judy West
Secretary
Judy West is a proud graduate of Fox High School class of 1971. Judy spent her entire school journey at Fox, from first grade through twelfth; and following her graduation, she attended Jefferson College. During her high school years, she lettered in Volleyball and served as the Senior Class Vice President.
She then entered the workforce, joining GPX/Gran Prix Electronics, a consumer electronics company. Judy later transferred to the Hong Kong buying office, where she coordinated communications with the St. Louis office and managed international customer relations for product export. Judy later worked at Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals, for an impressive 28 years before retiring.
Her tenure at the stadium allowed her to be part of many memorable events and milestones. After leaving Busch Stadium, Judy began working at the Enterprise Center, home of the St. Louis Blues. She has continued to work there since 1999. Judy has had the unique experience of participating in four World Series, including the unforgettable Game 6 in 2011, as well as an All-Star Game, Division and League Championship Games, the NHL Winter Classic, numerous concerts, and the historic St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup Championship.
Judy is dedicated to her role of Secretary on the Fox High School Alumni Association Board. She brings her expertise, enthusiasm, and deep sense of community to support the alumni network, ensuring that the spirit of Fox High School continues.
Brandi McGuire-Shufeldt
Scholarships Chair
Brandi McGuire-Shufeldt graduated from Fox High School in 2004 and is currently Director of Operations at National Rarities. She serves as the scholarship chair of the Fox High School Alumni Association.
During Brandi’s time at Fox High School, she was involved in Fox Warriorettes Dance Team, who were an overall 2004 State Champion in 3 categories with high points. Recently, the 2004 Dance team was inducted into the 2023 Fox Sports Hall of Fame. During her time with the Warriorettes, she attended the UDA Nationals in Florida 3 times.
Brandi also played on the Boys Varsity Golf team her freshman and sophomore year. After making it to districts, she advocated for the first Girls Golf Team at Fox High School in 2003. She went on to medal at the District and Regional Girls Golf Tournaments as well as in the Missouri State Girls Golf Tournament in 2003 and 2004. She was in the VICA club and served as VICA Club President and Vice President of the STL District VICA Club. She served as the 2003 Junior Class President and was the President of the Fox High School Letterman's Club from 2003-2004. During High School, she worked at Fortel's Pizza Den in Arnold, which was owned by 1984 Fox High School Graduates Jim and John Gangloff.
Brandi is a Graduate Gemologist and started her career in 2008 as an Estate Buyer, traveling across the United States and hosting Buying Events with Jewelry store partners. Her primary role is to purchase items such as Jewelry, Sterling Silver, Coins, Firearms, Watches, Antique Toys and Dolls, Designer Handbags and Historical Documents. Then she partners with various auctions to repurpose and reuse items. She is currently the Director of Operations at National Rarities and oversees a team of Estate Specialists that travel across the 50 states and into Canada hosting Buying Events for Local Jewelry Stores.
Brandi is married to her husband Chuck, and they have a pug named Jewels! They spend their spare time supporting the local Arnold Community through the Arnold Chamber of Commerce Events and Jefferson County Growth Association. In addition, they volunteer with various charities from Food Outreach to KidSmart, Project Backpack, Circle of Concern, and more.
Brandi is a former Director of the Arnold Chamber of Commerce and served with the Arnold Tourism Committee. Brandi was the Social Director for the Saint Louis Parrot Head Club for several years. She served on a Las Vegas Convention Center Special committee to support and help businesses that come to Las Vegas for various Expo and Sales Shows. Brandi has volunteered at the Annual Saint Louis Region DECA competition as a judge in a variety of skill sets and is a former board member of the Museum of the Dog in Saint Louis. She is also a former River City Rage Football IPFL Cheerleader and was selected as an All-Star Cheerleader at the IPFL All Star Game. Brandi is a long-time supporter of the Young Professionals of the Saint Louis Zoo.
Tim Miller
Communications Chair
Tim Miller graduated from Fox High School in 1975 and went on to earn a Communications Education Degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1979. With a passion for education and communication, he returned to his alma mater, dedicating an impressive 31 years as a teacher at Fox High School.
During his tenure, Tim made significant contributions to the school's extracurricular activities. For 30 years, he served as the Speech and Debate Coach, mentoring countless students and helping them develop critical thinking and public speaking skills. Under his guidance, the Speech and Debate teams flourished, competing at high levels and earning numerous accolades.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Tim also coordinated the Radio and TV Program at Fox High School for 30 years. His expertise and dedication helped build a robust program that provided students with hands-on experience in broadcasting and media production.
Beyond his roles in teaching and coaching, Tim has been the Public Address Announcer and the Voice of The Warriors for 40 years. His enthusiastic commentary has become synonymous with Fox High School sporting events.
In 2013, he expanded his influence in the broadcasting field by becoming the owner and operator of Prepcasts.com, an internet broadcasting company. Through Prepcasts, Tim has continued to share his passion for sports and education, providing live coverage of high school and college events. His commitment to quality broadcasting has earned Prepcasts a loyal following and solid reputation.
